Cocktail, Mocktail or Bocktail?

Heard of Bocktail before?

You may know what is Cocktail or even Mocktail, but until last weekend I figure there’s one new thing call Bocktail. It is best for all the beer lovers, because it is MIX OF ALL KIND OF BEER.

Found Bocktail in one of the new bar in Clarke Quay called Mulligan’s, quiet ambience with solo guitarist performance, with 2 kind of draught beers and draught Guinness available. Best place catching football match.

No doubt the coolest thing is the bocktail, KY had one mix with Heineken and some don’t know what cider beer with some drip of Ribenna, and it is awesome.

But cool thing never comes alone; we found another cool place called BK Whooper Bar in Clarke Quay too.

BK reminds you of what? Of cause the well known Burger King, and yes, here comes the Burger King Bar. Can you imagine you can upgrade your meal with a can of beer with just extra 3 dollars? The interior was a surprise, with bar stool, LCD for the menu and the coolest part is, you can pick to hear the song you want. All you need is an Ipod, any model will do, just plug it in, and the surround system around your table will play automatically.

A great weekend I had, at least I discover 2 new things. :p

The baking process

Some people were asking me to keep fit and tan myself for better. Should I?

For no reason we are trying to make our self better.
For no reason I’m start applying thick color cake on my skin.
For no reason I got compulsive on buying shoes.

I should stop (At least for 1 month of ‘no shoe buying’).

I hate to compare; or be compared.
Because the best will only gets forlorn.

So they call me – frigid.

The Healer

I bet my ignorance here for about two months, my readership should drop, that I wish no one is reading it.

I got myself into a feeling-less life, like a healer, just can’t feel anything; and getting more comfortable to be alone. I start enjoying dining alone, go shopping alone, and even want to plan for a holiday just for myself. Everyone around me is just getting myself feeling uneasy.

Sooner, everything and everyone will leave for good.
There is no point to have a perfect planning.
I just feel bad, and I think I am that – BAD.

“if you know me, please just act like you never know me. And I will never say Hi.”

London & Paris Trip 2009 [Chapter 2]

Woke up on the 2nd day morning with Starbucks’ breakfast awaits me. From the earliest morning, the only gentleman – Duncan went for the Arsenal Stadium visiting; and for all the ladies, its shopping time!

I don’t know what’s happening in the football stadium, but for us, we really had a great time. We walked from our hotel, to Old Bond street, to Bond Street and to Oxford Street.

Old Bond Street

Old Bond Street is filled with fashion since history, but now the street is packed with high-end designer brand such like Burberry, Cartier, Channel and etc. But for Oxford Street, it’s one of the “must not miss” street for all the ladies of our range. I can spend the whole day here if my trip isn’t that rush, best recommended affordable brand is H&M, Next and Zara. Somehow after I came back my friend told me their Nike shop is awesome.

Colourful fruit stall along Oxford Street

I also had my 1st Fish and Chips in London here, and do you believe the only delicious thing in London is Fish and Chips. Every single taste about the fish is so perfect, and I start complaining about the dory fish here. :p I seriously wanted to spend more time here, but I gotta rush to meet Duncan at our next stop – St Paul’s Cathedral.

Yummy Fish & Chips

St Paul’s Cathedral, where Princess Diana held her wedding here, it’s historical, beautiful and breath-taking. Too bad the whole indoor cannot take any pictures, but you still can see some that secretly took by us.

St Paul's Cathedral (indoor)

The most remarkable are their dome, hand painted on the ceiling, huge and it really look 3 dimensional - like a real thing. A sloppy staircase took us to somewhere higher, where we can admire the beautiful ceiling, and another few steps higher to the open air balcony, which can almost see the whole London view.

View from top of St Paul's Cathedral

St Paul's Cathedral (outdoor)

From St Paul, we crossed the bridge to Tate Modern – another Modern museum. But you’ve miss out we had Fish and Chips again, Ice-cream and also Hot Dog on our way. I’m not sure what’s inside Tate Modern, I do go inside, but I don’t find it interesting. But one thing caught my eye was their building design; it gave me a bad hand sign.

Food(s) along our way

Tate Modern, the architect looks like a middle finger sign

We took our river cruise from here, it’s like a one of the must do thing when you visit to London. But it’s kind of boring for me, the only good thing is you can take pictures with the famous – London Tower a.k.a. London Bridge.

London Tower

Lucky us, our boat was the last one for the day, I felt that all the things in London close early, but it only sunset around 10pm on summer. We stopped our river cruise tour at Big Ben/ London Eye again. As I promise, more pictures of them in the day time.

As promise, day view of London Eye and Big Ben

I hate myself wearing heals when on a trip, it hurts my toe, so I was nagging to go back to our room before going straight for dinner. As of 3 different taste from us, and my aunt went for her own sambal malay food, we concluded our choice by voting - Italian food.

Italian dinner on an English land

If you want to find a good place for dining in London, I would suggest Covent Market, where our 2nd night dinner here. This place is packed with a lot of restaurant, sure you can google it from choosing different cuisine (we voted from the google search too)!

Well, it’s a long post in the end, and my London second day stops right here.

London & Paris Trip 2009 [Chapter 1]

I’m glad that I fly with Singapore Airline. No transit needed, no flight delay, delicious meal, entertaining entertainment. After 13 hours of flight, my hair got fizzy, and I reached London on time at 1530.

My aunty should be waiting for me at Harrods for high tea, but no, I saw them at my arriving gate, they have lost their laptop!

Outside Harrods

Our hotel is at Green Park Station, an hour journey of tube (train in London) from Heathrow airport. I met Duncan at that station, and the 1st stop we head to – Harrods.

Inside Harrods

If you know London, you will know Harrods. The most famous shopping mall in London. With lots of cute teddy bears and also Diana and Dodi’s memorial is inside. We really planned for a high tea over here, but 5 hungers here, we decided head to the next stop – China Town for dinner.

China Town in London

MayFlower

Our dinner place is called Mayflower, nothing compare to our local Chinese food. China town isn’t amazing also, but I heard people say here’s happening, even 4 in the morning are full with people, and I wonder…

Our 1st dinner

After dinner, Lai Yee and Aunty June are having jet lacked and wanted to go back for resting, so the rest of us three decided to continue our walk around London. We walk from China Town to the National Gallery to River Thames to London Eye and to Big Ben.

The distance isn’t too far; here are some(a lot of) photos from our ‘walk’. Thanks to Ah Dan for all the lovely photos. “I NEED A NEW CAMERA!”

On the way

Pre London and Paris

So one of my major holiday trip has just ended. From planning to flight/ train booking to hotel booking to itinerary planning to the trip, it took me like 3 months.

And yes, I went to London and Paris (*yeah*). Ahem, yet so glad that I fly with Singapore Airline A380 (*yeah x 2*), and also I save 3 nights hotel fare and some meals in London (*Yeah x 3*). Once again I really like to thank my beloved Lai Yee, Aunt June and Duncan.

Here are some tips when you plan for a short trip to London and Paris. I went for 8 days and 6 nights, to be honest, it’s not enough!

1. Book your flight ticket as early as possible, you can visit www.zuji.com for flight ticket comparison, but remember don’t book from that site. After finding the cheapest fare, go back to the flight company to purchase. (Emirates now is having the cheapest fare to London, don’t miss it)

2. Book your Eurostar ticket as early as possible too. After your flight is confirmed, straight go to Eurostar website to book the tru and flow tic. The earliest you book, the cheapest you can get.

3. Find the cheap and clean hotel. So far I found both London and Paris hotels are clean with cheap price and good location. In London, I stay in Curzon Plaza location in Mayfair district near Green Park Station. There has the promotion buy 2 nights free 1 night, and it only cost around 160 pounds for all 3 nights. In Paris, I stayed in Appi Hotel, only 195 euro for 3 nights, its walking distance to The Lourve, and 4 stops away from Eurostar station.

4. Make a lot of research and preparation on where you want to visit, due to a short trip, you need to pack all your time from morning until night. Plan nicely your itinerary, remember, the only time to rest in the hotel room is your sleeping time.

5. Check the weather, sunset and sunrise timing. Pack your clothes accordingly, prepare some free space for your luggage for shopping purpose, some medicine and not to forget, lip balm and moisturizer, it’s too dry over there.

And that‘s it! If you would like to see my 8 days 6 nights itinerary plan for London and Paris, you can message me. I also wish to upload here, but just that I don’t know how. :)

Please continue with my next post, London and Paris [Chapter 1].
