London & Paris Trip 2009 [Chapter 2]

Woke up on the 2nd day morning with Starbucks’ breakfast awaits me. From the earliest morning, the only gentleman – Duncan went for the Arsenal Stadium visiting; and for all the ladies, its shopping time!

I don’t know what’s happening in the football stadium, but for us, we really had a great time. We walked from our hotel, to Old Bond street, to Bond Street and to Oxford Street.

Old Bond Street

Old Bond Street is filled with fashion since history, but now the street is packed with high-end designer brand such like Burberry, Cartier, Channel and etc. But for Oxford Street, it’s one of the “must not miss” street for all the ladies of our range. I can spend the whole day here if my trip isn’t that rush, best recommended affordable brand is H&M, Next and Zara. Somehow after I came back my friend told me their Nike shop is awesome.

Colourful fruit stall along Oxford Street

I also had my 1st Fish and Chips in London here, and do you believe the only delicious thing in London is Fish and Chips. Every single taste about the fish is so perfect, and I start complaining about the dory fish here. :p I seriously wanted to spend more time here, but I gotta rush to meet Duncan at our next stop – St Paul’s Cathedral.

Yummy Fish & Chips

St Paul’s Cathedral, where Princess Diana held her wedding here, it’s historical, beautiful and breath-taking. Too bad the whole indoor cannot take any pictures, but you still can see some that secretly took by us.

St Paul's Cathedral (indoor)

The most remarkable are their dome, hand painted on the ceiling, huge and it really look 3 dimensional - like a real thing. A sloppy staircase took us to somewhere higher, where we can admire the beautiful ceiling, and another few steps higher to the open air balcony, which can almost see the whole London view.

View from top of St Paul's Cathedral

St Paul's Cathedral (outdoor)

From St Paul, we crossed the bridge to Tate Modern – another Modern museum. But you’ve miss out we had Fish and Chips again, Ice-cream and also Hot Dog on our way. I’m not sure what’s inside Tate Modern, I do go inside, but I don’t find it interesting. But one thing caught my eye was their building design; it gave me a bad hand sign.

Food(s) along our way

Tate Modern, the architect looks like a middle finger sign

We took our river cruise from here, it’s like a one of the must do thing when you visit to London. But it’s kind of boring for me, the only good thing is you can take pictures with the famous – London Tower a.k.a. London Bridge.

London Tower

Lucky us, our boat was the last one for the day, I felt that all the things in London close early, but it only sunset around 10pm on summer. We stopped our river cruise tour at Big Ben/ London Eye again. As I promise, more pictures of them in the day time.

As promise, day view of London Eye and Big Ben

I hate myself wearing heals when on a trip, it hurts my toe, so I was nagging to go back to our room before going straight for dinner. As of 3 different taste from us, and my aunt went for her own sambal malay food, we concluded our choice by voting - Italian food.

Italian dinner on an English land

If you want to find a good place for dining in London, I would suggest Covent Market, where our 2nd night dinner here. This place is packed with a lot of restaurant, sure you can google it from choosing different cuisine (we voted from the google search too)!

Well, it’s a long post in the end, and my London second day stops right here.

London & Paris Trip 2009 [Chapter 1]

I’m glad that I fly with Singapore Airline. No transit needed, no flight delay, delicious meal, entertaining entertainment. After 13 hours of flight, my hair got fizzy, and I reached London on time at 1530.

My aunty should be waiting for me at Harrods for high tea, but no, I saw them at my arriving gate, they have lost their laptop!

Outside Harrods

Our hotel is at Green Park Station, an hour journey of tube (train in London) from Heathrow airport. I met Duncan at that station, and the 1st stop we head to – Harrods.

Inside Harrods

If you know London, you will know Harrods. The most famous shopping mall in London. With lots of cute teddy bears and also Diana and Dodi’s memorial is inside. We really planned for a high tea over here, but 5 hungers here, we decided head to the next stop – China Town for dinner.

China Town in London

MayFlower

Our dinner place is called Mayflower, nothing compare to our local Chinese food. China town isn’t amazing also, but I heard people say here’s happening, even 4 in the morning are full with people, and I wonder…

Our 1st dinner

After dinner, Lai Yee and Aunty June are having jet lacked and wanted to go back for resting, so the rest of us three decided to continue our walk around London. We walk from China Town to the National Gallery to River Thames to London Eye and to Big Ben.

The distance isn’t too far; here are some(a lot of) photos from our ‘walk’. Thanks to Ah Dan for all the lovely photos. “I NEED A NEW CAMERA!”

On the way

Pre London and Paris

So one of my major holiday trip has just ended. From planning to flight/ train booking to hotel booking to itinerary planning to the trip, it took me like 3 months.

And yes, I went to London and Paris (*yeah*). Ahem, yet so glad that I fly with Singapore Airline A380 (*yeah x 2*), and also I save 3 nights hotel fare and some meals in London (*Yeah x 3*). Once again I really like to thank my beloved Lai Yee, Aunt June and Duncan.

Here are some tips when you plan for a short trip to London and Paris. I went for 8 days and 6 nights, to be honest, it’s not enough!

1. Book your flight ticket as early as possible, you can visit www.zuji.com for flight ticket comparison, but remember don’t book from that site. After finding the cheapest fare, go back to the flight company to purchase. (Emirates now is having the cheapest fare to London, don’t miss it)

2. Book your Eurostar ticket as early as possible too. After your flight is confirmed, straight go to Eurostar website to book the tru and flow tic. The earliest you book, the cheapest you can get.

3. Find the cheap and clean hotel. So far I found both London and Paris hotels are clean with cheap price and good location. In London, I stay in Curzon Plaza location in Mayfair district near Green Park Station. There has the promotion buy 2 nights free 1 night, and it only cost around 160 pounds for all 3 nights. In Paris, I stayed in Appi Hotel, only 195 euro for 3 nights, its walking distance to The Lourve, and 4 stops away from Eurostar station.

4. Make a lot of research and preparation on where you want to visit, due to a short trip, you need to pack all your time from morning until night. Plan nicely your itinerary, remember, the only time to rest in the hotel room is your sleeping time.

5. Check the weather, sunset and sunrise timing. Pack your clothes accordingly, prepare some free space for your luggage for shopping purpose, some medicine and not to forget, lip balm and moisturizer, it’s too dry over there.

And that‘s it! If you would like to see my 8 days 6 nights itinerary plan for London and Paris, you can message me. I also wish to upload here, but just that I don’t know how. :)

Please continue with my next post, London and Paris [Chapter 1].

I'm lost?

What makes me blog? I’m stuck at home on Friday night, and Saturday morning too. Come on people, stop asking me why I didn’t go out on a Friday night. Because I have no DATES!!!! LoL

Great Singapore Sales seems not happening at all, the brands that I like isn’t going on any sales at all. I think I continue shop at Bugis Street and Far East, $10 per dress, where to find?

And I’m not excited at all for my upcoming trip. It’s a major holiday, I’m flying 13 hours on A380, going to 2 countries that I’ve always wish, but still - moodless!!! Some more I’m insufficient of money, pound is increasing, and I’m still planning to buy a camera and a LCD TV. :( I need sponsors!!

Going to plan a lot a lot of trip back to Malaysia. Should I just quit here and go back?

Argh. Totally LOST.

Chipster Hero?

So my KL trip cancelled, and because I don't wanna waste my air ticket, I decided to go back to Ipoh, which I reach LCCT and take a direct bus from there to Ipoh. And the stupidest pig (I don’t mean to be rude) told me the earliest bus is 6pm (which I need to wait almost 2 hours), when I reach the bus stop, and they told me the bus left at 5.45!!!!! I don’t understand why they can’t manage something so simple. No wonder Malaysia’s politics so “pretty ugly”. Well, lucky me, there’s another bus (different company) at 6.30pm who manage by Chinese...

Reach Ipoh at 10, and leaving the next day. Stayed less than 24 hours, for an 8 hours journey trip! That’s because I got something funny yet stupid thing going on Sunday morning, and yeah, it’s mother’s day, so it worth it.

Oh well, the previous post I mention about my planning trip which highly chances, and YES! It’s confirmed! I bought my air ticket, and booked my room  See you London and Paris in nest month.

Last but not least, wishing my mom, my grandma, and the new mama in da house (My sister) HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

Oh Yes, I bought this chips call chipster thing, and made this chipster movie, hope you enjoy.

I just can’t sit still.

I just didn’t update for 17 days ONLY! Yet, a lot of things happened, thought of putting an emo post previously, but I recovered extremely fast. (I wish too)

The funny thing is I check on my astrology, and it says I got the power to heal, create and transform. I think I will be the best mutant, healing is the best power ever.

So, what had happened in these 17 days?
It was a balance, good and bad things again. I had a really wonderful night; I thought I found my happiness, just like the fairy tale – happily ever after. But it ended up a fool, like sleeping beauty waking up from her sweet dream, faces the unkindness cruel world, totally lose of everything in her dream before, even a recall back or forget her pet’s name in the dream. Everything is just a flash back memory for her.

Again, what had happened in these 17 days?
We planned for a Krabi trip, and canceled! As usual. Just like the diving trip last time. And I’m planning for a further vacation this June, chances are high, I will inform you guys again when it happen.
We had plan and CONFIRMED the plan to KL this 8th May, we will have a party, location not confirm yet, but anyone who read this is invited. Make yourself available this 8th of May.

In these 17 days, Robin came and left, congratulation him, finally finish his torturing in the KB. Yes, a cadet pilot coming on your way.

These 17 days:
I had my 1st concert in Singapore. I have missed 3 concerts, which I really really regret that I didn’t go – Muse, Coldplay and Motley Crue. I thought only left for those rocker bands’s concert I’ll go, but this is completely different - 6 Chinese artists and 2 local composers. Anyway, it’s a free concert, Seen was with me, two people out of nowhere, totally not up to any Chinese song, and went for the freaking concert, and left before it ends. The truth is, it’s not bad at all to see artists like - 萧敬腾, 小猪,陈晓东, Jolin & 孙燕姿.

Been to places (pubs) which I never or wish to visit - Screening Room in Ang Xiang Road, and the 8II8 at the Red Dot Museum. Screening Room is cool, just too many angmos and the buildup is too small.

Watched – Knowing, Gran Torino and DMC. Detroit Metal City won my vote.

Had 3 packets of Lays, 1 Raffles, 2 times Japanese food, 2 times Mcdonalds.
Damn pissed off because no more chicken foldover in McD… and my Vanilla coke =(

Bought a pair of shoe again.

And talking too much here…

Ok. Let’s stop here and see you again on the next post (no idea when) or see you guys on the 8th in KL! Before it ends, have you heard of 2012 is the doomsday?

Maybe you like to check out this – click!
I still don’t understand......

Friday, April 3, 2009

OK. Here I share some of the photos taken from Raphael’s wedding dinner held in Ipoh. I appreciated he thanked us for coming all the way from different places while he’s on the stage. Weird thing was 80% of the attendees were senior citizens. Lol.

The best part of all the weddings are the “yum sheng”.

Folks that come.

And the group photo…

So Earth Hour passed, and this year is definitely awesome, most of the people I know actually turn off their lights.

But I’m sad too, people actually treat it as a trend, from others influencing, following people’s step of what they did. Do they really understand how turning off the 1 hour lights can save the earth? Mostly no one really knows. SAD.

Last year I told all my close friends and family to turn off, but they say I’m stupid. Eventually this year they did join this Earth hour thingy. So I wonder, if next year there is no more facebook advertisement, no more tv commercial, no more artists posing for earth hour, will they do the same thing too? Probably not.
